The last time Connor Baer saw Jessie McIvey, he’d left her hanging by her overalls on the bleachers at a high school football game. The next time, she was all grown up, as fierce as the grizzly that was chasing her, and determined to keep him and everyone else from destroying a Native American historical site. 

Searching for water in the high plains desert isn’t easy, and with the not so legal help of a friend, Connor has found water on the local reservation. Even with the blessing of the tribe, Jessie a newly minted archeologist, isn’t budging, and the town’s most hated man, Ben Childers isn’t making it easy either. 

Two hearts that were fused into a friendship as kids and ended in the quest for greener pastures, just might be able to mend their broken hearts, if the grizzly, the buffalo, and the muscle hired by Ben Childers don’t get them first.
